It’s been quite a riveting year so far. We have had our ups and downs, but alhamdulillah we have weathered the storms and are now acting as one team, one family, taking responsibility for one another. We have excelled in all the competitions and challenges that have been thrust upon us. The Stallions have demonstrated their strength and persistence, which is without any doubt, the key to success. I would just like to express my gratitude to the students that have made being the house leader of Salahuddin Stallions an absolute pleasure.

You are truly a credit to both your families and this school.

The first and last day of school for a teacher are the hardest, the first day you are starting all over again, the last day you are letting go of the progress that was made. What comes in the middle is the building of a united community.

From steps to strides, from words to speeches, from falls to leaps we have achieved outstanding heights together, Khawarizmi Camels are on top, Khawarizmi Camels will STAY on top! It is a long race full of challenges, however we are the Camels, we were built for Stamina.

There is no straw which you camels cannot bear. You can bear labour, hunger, thirst and heat without fainting like the others. You are the ships of the desert. Remember to trust in Allah and tie up your camels.

In the short time I have been the house leader of an amazing group of talented young men, I have never been prouder. You have resonated the morals and ethics of the Kayi way. We have sheltered many tribulations and have only come out stronger together, united! We have excelled in many challenges and have been cheated in many more, but we have stood strong, tall and proud. We have many challenges we must tackle in the forthcoming months, but I am sure we will overcome them. We need to set a benchmark; one we will not be below but rather exceeding. We shall end victorious!

The Nawawi Oryx house has done well to adjust to the new House system and fully immersed themselves into being an active and valuable part of the house activities, from the young and starry-eyed year 7’s to the cultured and seasoned veterans in year 10. Our attendance and sports participation have been the major successes and highlights of our year so far. Our biggest challenge is to improve behaviour in order to be the best, which I as the House Leader, in tandem with our form tutors and the Nawawi Oryx student body at large, will be aiming to not just improve, but to produce exemplary students who will set the benchmark of good behavior in our House. As they say, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

We stand united as House Nawawi Oryx and pledge to commit ourselves to creating students which are, as our school motto dictates, creative learners today, future leaders tomorrow.
