Students from Ta’allum Academies were honoured to feature very prominently in this year’s annual Holy Qu’ran Competition. There were a total of 1142 student winners from across the three Academies. This figure included 529 students from Al Maha Boys’ Academy, 353 from Al Maha Girls and 260 from Al Jazeera.
Commitment to this reverential and respected competition has been increasing year on year for Ta’allum students.
This respected national competition is an established and traditional event in the schools’ calendar. Held for the 58th time this year, it is sponsored by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) in collaboration with and under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The competition seeks to demonstrate Qatar’s commitment to serving the Qur’an and to developing understanding of the Qur’an.
Dr Mohammed Saefan, Ta’allum Director of Education, said ‘We are very pleased to see the increasing commitment of Ta’allum students to the Holy Qu’ran competition. It is central to our Ta’allum vision of quality education based on an Islamic ethos that aims to serve humanity. We pray that Allah will grant us wisdom and enable us and our children to both learn the Qur’an and, more importantly, implement it into our daily lives.’
